FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Freedom to Read Week at the SD&G County Library
February 23, 2017
Celebrate your “Freedom to Read” from February 25 to March 3. This annual, week-long celebration is an opportunity to reflect and appreciate our right in Canada to read whatever we want. Freedom to Read Week reminds us of our freedom to access all expressions of ideas.
“Freedom to Read Week is an important week for both libraries and Canadians” says Karen Franklin, Director of Library Services. “We are very fortunate to not have restrictions placed on our access to information, and it’s important to acknowledge and celebrate this right.”
A variety of “Freedom to Read” programs are offered throughout the SD&G County Library system. Contact your local branch or visit the website (www.sdglibrary.ca/programs-events) for more information.
Exercise your Freedom to Read with the SD&G County Library.
