FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April is Graphic Novel Month at the SD&G County Library
April 03, 2018
If you have not yet delved into the world of graphic novels, April is the perfect month to do so. All this month, the SD&G County Library is showcasing its extensive collection of graphic novels and comics by celebrating April as Graphic Novel Month.
Whether you like them or not, graphic novels have gained a massive following and a permanent foothold in people’s reading lives. There is a misconception that a graphic novel is a comic book for kids. Some might even go as far to say they have no literary merit. This could not be further from the truth. Graphic novels offer a unique approach to telling stories, and can be a beautiful medley of art and literature.
The popularity of graphic novels continues to grow, and the SD&G County Library is responding by curating an impressive selection of some of the greatest graphic novels ever written. There is a wide variety of topics and genres covered in the Library’s collection, meaning there truly is something for everyone. And, if you’re not sure where to start, our staff would be happy to help you!
Also, during the month April, for every graphic novel you borrow you get a ballot for a chance to win a $100 Fantasy Realm gift card!
Don’t forget, if you’re heading to the Cornwall & Area Pop Event (CAPE) on April 21-22 at the Benson Centre, be sure to stop by our Library booth for a first-hand look at some of our collections and our 3D Printer-in-action.
