FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Food for Fines Spring Campaign
May 31, 2018
Every Spring and Fall the SDG Library gives its members the opportunity to pay down Library fines with non-perishable food donations. For every item donated $1.00 in overdue fines are waived. From May 19th to May 26th, each branch collected food items on behalf of local food banks or organizations. The SDG Library is very proud to announce that this Spring’s Food for Fines campaign was yet again a success, with in increase in donations over last year’s.
“Food for Fines is a great initiative. Its success stems from the dedication of the Library’s incredible public service staff, and from the generosity of our community,” says Nicholas Seguin, Communications & Marketing Coordinator.
The May campaign raised 528 donations of food or cash, while last fall’s campaign yielded 832 donations. The SDG Library would like to thank all those who took part to make this program such a success.
