FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SDG Library – Services Update
May 15, 2020
On Thursday, May 14th, the provincial government announced, as part of the first stage of their reopening framework, public libraries will be able to offer delivery and pick-up services as soon as May 19, 2020.
The SDG Library welcomes the news that they will soon be able to offer curbside service but will delay an immediate launch to ensure all procedures and measures have been fully developed to safeguard the health and safety of staff and patrons during these uncertain times.
“We are working on putting the processes in place, as well as sourcing the necessary supplies to be able to safely offer these services” said Karen Franklin, Director of Library Services. “We will continue to keep our communities informed and are looking forward to being able to provide curbside pick-up service.”
The SDG Library branches have been closed to the public since March 16th, but staff continue to offer virtual services such as online membership registration, access to digital materials, virtual programs, and Library support.
