FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mission Statement Update at the SD&G County Library
August 14, 2017

The SD&G County Library is preparing to update the Library’s Mission Statement and they’re asking for public input.

This past Spring, Library staff and Library Board members compiled a short list of six potential mission statements that fit with where the Library is and where it is heading. Now, staff have taken these statements out to the public to find out what community members think.

“It was time to update our Mission Statement” said Karen Franklin, Director of Library Services. “How people see and use our Library has been changing, and our Mission needed to reflect a more updated and usable idea.”

The statements range from short and to the point, to more traditional styles. As well, there is the option of writing in your own suggestion. The public are invited to vote on their favourite statement in branch, at the Pop Up Library, or online until September 5th. “We’ve had an excellent response from people so far, and are excited to continue to hear more.” Ms. Franklin said.
