New Chair Elected to the SD&G County Library Board
January 23, 2017

At the regular January 2017 meeting, the SD&G County Library Board elected South Dundas Mayor, Evonne Delegarde, to the position of Chair. In December, previous Board Chair, Bill McGimpsey, announced his decision to step down from the position.

Mr. McGimpsey had held the position of Library Board Chair for the last ten years. During that time, the Board had realized some significant improvements, as well as having met a number of difficult challenges. Although leaving the position of Chair, McGimpsey will continue to serve as a member of the Library Board for the next two years.

Ms. Delegarde assumed the position of Library Board chair on January 19th, following the motion to elect a new chair towards the end of the meeting. Upon accepting the position, Delegarde indicated she was excited to take on the task of Board Chair. She has been a member of the SD&G County Library Board since 2014.

The SD&G County Library Board regularly meets ten times a year, usually on the second Thursday of the month. Meetings are open to the public and a full schedule of meeting dates and locations for 2017 can be found at
