Fifth Annual SDG Reads Final Event – Author Visit with Kelley Armstrong
October 28, 2019
Last Wednesday (October 23), SDG Library wrapped up their fifth annual ‘SDG Reads’ program with a visit from bestselling Canadian author, Kelley Armstrong.
Almost 200 people came out to the popular author event held at North Stormont Place in Avonmore. Guests were treated to a special evening from the moment they arrived – from the décor to the food - every detail was designed to wow.
“We’re really proud of our SDG Reads program”, said Karen Franklin, Director of Library Services. “Every year the program grows in participation and our staff continue to impress at the final event.”
SDG Reads is an annual program that runs from May until October at all branches of the SDG Library. The 2019 program focused on Ms. Armstrong’s “Rockton” series, encouraging participants to read any, or all, of the four books in the series. In addition to the author visit, library programs were also offered throughout the time period.
Books from the 2019 SDG Reads featured series are still available for loan through the SDG Library or for sale, as part of the Library’s fundraising initiatives. For more information on the program, please visit www.sdglibrary.ca/sdg-reads or contact Susan Wallwork, Communications & Marketing Librarian at swallwork@sdglibrary.ca or (613) 936-8777 ext. 226
