TD Summer Reading Club
June 25, 2021

The SDG Library is excited to be launching the 2021 TD Summer Reading Club! Once again this year, this popular children’s reading program will be offered as a virtual program, combining online activities with take-home reading kits.

The “TDSRC” is a bilingual program, designed to encourage school-aged children to participate in literacy activities while having fun during the summer. This year, the program will run from July 5 until August 27. Each week, different games, activities, and reading suggestions will be presented around the overall theme “Game On!”.

“We learned a lot from moving the program completely online last year, and we have built on that success to plan another awesome program for this summer,” said Susan Wallwork, Community Librarian. “Our TDSRC program organizers have been planning activities that will actually get kids excited about literacy, and that they can take part in from home.”

At this time, the organizers, Émilie and Chloe, plan to connect with SRC participants through Facebook, YouTube, and Zoom, but if there is the possibility of having an in-person activity at the end of the summer, they will happily consider it. Kids aged 5-12 can register for the program at
