FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
2017 TD Summer Reading Club
July 17, 2017
The summer is in full swing and that means the TD Summer Reading Club is too! But that doesn’t mean there isn’t still time to join in!
This summer, the SD&G County Library is offering its bilingual kids’ reading program at all fifteen branches, as well as two satellite locations in St. Andrews West and Glen Walter. The TD Summer Reading Club is a free program that celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators and stories, through reading, activities, games and prizes.
“The TD Summer Reading Club has always been a hit with children in SDG,” said Karen Franklin, Director of Library Services. “The program encourages kids to keep reading over the summer months in a fun and interactive way. Our Program Coordinators develop activities that can be flexible depending on their participants, adapting to the interests and ages of those involved.”
The weekly program runs all summer, beginning the first week of July and running until August 24. Children can register at any time. This year, in connection to the celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday, the program is focusing on exploring Canada from coast to coast.
