About the Program
The 2019 TD Summer Reading Club is getting ready to explore the Natural World!
Children aged 6 to 12 are invited to join us to find out more about the world we live in. Activities are designed to encourage literacy and creativity with stories, games, and activities. Programming begins July 2nd and runs until August 22nd.
Registration began June 1st - visit your local SDG Library branch to register. For more information, please contact our Summer Reading Club Facilitators at email@example.com.
Everything kicks off on Saturday, June 22nd at our 2019 Launch Party! Join us at Chesterville Park (1 William St.) to find out more about "The Wild Frontier" by Little Ray's Reptiles. Activities and light refreshments will also be provided. Doors open at 10:15am and the presentation starts at 10:30am. Registration is required - contact us at (613) 936-8777 ext. 330 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
TD Summer Reading Club Contests
This summer, TD Summer Reading Club members will have two contests to take part in.
Our summer reading contest will be back! Starting in July, children registered in the program (ages 6-12), are welcome to participate. For every book you check out, read and return to the Library you will receive a ballot to be entered into a draw for prizes at the end of the summer. The more books you read, the more chances you have to win! We ask that the children read age appropriate books as this contest is to promote reading skills.
Our new contest challenges children to keep participating in the TD Summer Reading Club at home! Each week, participants will be provided with an activity related to that week's theme. Take the activity home and complete it before the end of the summer for a chance to win a prize. Your Summer Reading Club Facilitators will tell you all about it at the beginning of the program.
Let's get reading and exploring SDG!
About your Facilitators - They're Back!
Hi, I’m Amanda and I am one of your Summer Reading Club Facilitators this year! This is my fourth year helping to offer this program and I'm excited to be back. We've made some changes to the program and can't wait to see what everyone thinks. I'll be back in the Glengarry district branches, as well as Finch, Avonmore, and Long Sault.
I am looking forward to meeting all the SRC participants - new and returning. See you all soon!
Hi! I am Alyssa and I am one of the Summer Reading Club Facilitators this year. I had such a great time with everyone last year, I had to come back! Amanda and I have been busy planning some really fun activities and challenges for this year's program focused on the Natural World. I be back at the Dundas branches again this year, as well as at the Crysler and Ingleside locations in Stormont.
I can't wait to get started!
